The Appreciative Discovery™
Our proprietary process
A facilitated session to discover your positioning strategy, or point of difference. We call it "appreciative" because our approach helps multiple stakeholders appreciate the organization's meaning and relevance in view of prevailing realities. All goes into the development of a clear positioning strategy and executive action plan for implementation of the strategy in the marketplace. The following steps and deliverables are involved.

The key deliverable from the Appreciative Discovery™ is a written exposition of your core positioning and a strategic action plan with timetables and budgets. It is exactly what the leadership team needs to understand and effectively express the positioning difference in the market.


Steps in the Appreciative Discovery™ Process


1. Pre-Meeting Questionnaire - We will ask your principals to complete a backgrounder prior to the Appreciative Discovery, and will use your responses to prepare our Moderator's Guide for the Appreciative Discovery session.


2. Moderator's Guide - The agency will develop a Discussion Guide as the basis for moderating the Appreciative Discovery session. The Discussion Guide will be shared with Company prior to the AD session.


3. Appreciative Discovery™ Session - The Appreciative Discovery is a facilitated agency-client strategic session. The purpose is to give all stakeholders voice in shaping the competitive direction/positioning strategy of the organization and/or its brand(s). The four-hour session will include an overview of the market situation, corporate vision and goals, customer wants and needs, competitive analysis, and review of positioning hypothesis.
